My D’var Torah
Today, I want to talk about Parashat Pekudei, the last part of Exodus. It tells how the Israelites finished building the Mishkan, a special place for God's presence. Bezalel and Oholiab led the building project, and many others used their skills to make everything needed. They carefully tracked the materials like gold and silver, showing they cared about doing God's will.
This teaches us some important lessons. First, it shows the power of teamwork. Bezalel and Oholiab worked with others who had different talents, proving that together we can do more than alone.
Second, the Mishkan teaches us about purpose. It wasn’t just a building, but a sacred space to connect with God. This reminds us to bring order and purpose into our own lives.
When the Mishkan was finished, God's presence filled it, showing their hard work had created something holy. This teaches us that when we put effort into something, we can make it special.
I can relate because when I broke my ankle, I needed help from my family and doctors to heal. Just like the Israelites worked together, I had help getting better. I learned that things take time, but with help, we can get through challenges.
As a Bar Mitzvah, I’m taking on more responsibility with God and my community, just like the Israelites did. I hope to carry the lessons of teamwork, dedication, and purpose into my life.
